Warm your body up before you go ride!!!

I don't know how many times I am near a staging area for a race and I see kids slumped over their handlebars or proped up against a post or fence, or sitting down. We have all heard it said that motocross is the second most physically demanding sport behind soccer, and in order to participate in something of that nature, your body has to be ready to do so. It is kinda like starting your bike and just holding the throttle wide open, chances are its gonna sieze up. I know most of you dads have had to tell your children at one point in time to let the bike warm up before reving it out, well this is the same thing. Im not saying the body is going to shut down, but in a five lap race if it takes half a lap to get your blood flowing and get you amped up to race, then you have just knocked yourself out of contention. We have all seen the kids doing jumping jacks on the starting gate, or running in place, this is exactly what those kids are doing...they are getting that blood pumping, so the are ready to do battle when the gate drops. Race mode starts when you leave your vehicle, not when the gate falls...by that time, its too late.
